Outbound message text is authored in Markdown, but every messaging channel supports a different subset of formatting. Right now the same raw Markdown goes out everywhere, so WhatsApp recipients see literal `**bold**`, SMS recipients see `[text](url)`, and Telegram never receives HTML.
